South Nyack Man Made Purchases With Credit Car Stolen From Car, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A South Nyack man was nabbed Thursday for grand larceny after stealing a wallet and credit cards out of a vehicle, according to Orangetown Police.

Jacob Neering, 30, was arrested after police were notified that someone was using the victim's credit card which had been stolen on Depew Avenue, to make numerous purchases, police said.

Officers were able to obtain video from merchants and identified Neering. An officer patrolling the area noticed Neering and placed him in custody. He gave officers a false name when questioned, but after finding stolen items in his possession police were later able to identify him as the person responsible for the crimes, police said.

He was charged with felony grand larceny, felony possession of stolen property, petit larceny and criminal impersonation. 

Neering is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $2,500 bail.
